Grand Opening of 1930 Remnant: A New STS Ranchwear Retail Concept Store
1930 Remnant showcases a curated selection of STS Ranchwear and other brands that reflect the Smiths' deep-rooted love for Texas and their passion for the western lifestyle. The store will feature a blend of products from designers that Stran and Jennifer have admired throughout their years in the western industry. A unique 1930 Patch Bar is nested in the space where you can create your own custom STS cap.
"Jennifer’s designer talents are not just evident in the handbags she creates. She made every part of the space a visual representation of the brand and our legacy on the ranch. Though it was a long, drawn-out process, we enjoyed collaborating on this project together," remarks Stran Smith.
Jennifer adds, "One thing I’ve learned through our 20+ year marriage is that Stran can fix just about anything! This renovation was a testament to that."
The opening of 1930 Remnant marks not just a culmination of hard work but also the beginning of a continuing journey. "This has been a true labor of love, and it will continue to evolve even after the opening. I have so many plans for this space—more ideas than time, actually!" Jennifer shares with a laugh. "During the pandemic, we felt a calling to do something larger than ourselves for the community. When we discovered this building with the warehouse attached, we knew it was the place we had dreamed of. We hope the revenue from the store will help us provide meaningful events in the warehouse that encourage, inspire, and help cultivate a healthy community.”
The Inspiration Behind 1930 Remnant
The name "1930 Remnant" is inspired by a promise found in 2 Kings 19:30-31, embodying the spirit of ranchers and cowboys. It embraces the idea of descendants or "Remnants" who take root and rise up to bear fruit across generations. The story began with the adventurous journey of Will T Smith, known affectionately as "Papa," who in 1930, boarded a train to California in search of work. Faced with unexpected encounters with outlaws and renegades, Papa experienced a divine revelation that his destiny was to be his own boss. With newfound determination, he returned to Texas and dedicated his life to building the Lazy S Ranch in Tell, Texas.
As inheritors of Papa's spirit and unwavering resolve, the Smith family remains resilient and steadfast, much like the land that inspired him. Their mission is to foster and cultivate success for those who share the frontier spirit. They invite the community to join them in honoring Papa's legacy, embracing today's challenges, and forging a path toward a promising future. The store's logo subtly incorporates the Lazy S brand with the year 1930, paying homage to this enduring legacy.
